The success of rising pop star Daniela Brooker is one of old fashioned hard work and true talent. From an early age Daniela was exposed to studio recording, leading to a passion for song writing and live performance. Daniela is a versatile and mesmerising artist, drawing influence from a broad range of styles including rock, pop and urban. Her influences include Etta James, Steven Tyler, Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera.

In 2011 Daniela was selected to join platinum selling artists The Saturdays on a 13 date UK arena tour, including performing on the prestigious Wembley Arena stage. Not many 18 years olds have fulfilled so many ambitions, but Daniela’s confidence and drive have landed her two consecutive tours of the USA, festivals and club events all over the UK, and an army of dedicated fans. In the summer of 2011 Daniela was invited to play at Cardiff Mardi Gras in Wales, and Jolly Day Out in London alongside McFly and Imelda May, and in the US played storming sets at Hollywood’s biggest Halloween party, Palm Springs Pride and was the face of Hard Rock Cafe’s Pinktober campaign raising money for breast cancer research.

In May 2011 Daniela’s single ‘Turn It Up’ was played on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio. The half British and half Venezuelan beauty has notched up some extremely credible press in both the US and UK including live performances on CBS, Last FM live sessions, singing to the Grammy panel, CNN Latino, interviews with Cosmo Girl, Teen.com, Latino Magazine, and her music video for single ‘Summer Love’ made it’s debut on MTV Logo between Beyonce and Lady Gaga.

Working with acclaimed producer Louis Read (Mary J Blige and The Noisettes), plus Paul Garred from The Kooks and Rob Harris from Jamiroquai, she has put together an enviable collection of killer pop songs perfectly showcasing her incredible versatility. From the rock-influenced ‘Heart Locked’, to perfect summer pop tune ‘Summer Love’, Daniela is clearly blessed with a rich, mesmerising voice capable of both restraint and heart-stopping intensity, and has already been favourably compared to Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas.

VIOLET BONES are a four piece rock ‘n’ roll band from Cambridge. Rik (Guitar), Oz (Drums), Stu (Bass) and Si (Vocals) pack an incredible amount of passion, energy, animation and spirit into their sing-along garage-pop anthems.

Their fierce DIY ethic and constant touring across the UK has earned them support slots with punk heroes New York Dolls and Ash. On home turf their following is loyal and raucous. Violet Bones spent 2010 self-releasing singles and touring hard including a well received show at In The City 2010. The songs and the shows scored well with the media and audiences alike.

With strong support from BBC Cambridgeshire and a host of fanzines and local radio stations, previous single ‘I Feel The Need’ was at No. 1 on the Pre-Order Chart at Play.com for weeks.

BBC Introducing asked the band to do a BBC Masterclass, and put them forward to play Glastonbury 2011. Violet Bones also appeared at The Great Escape Festival on May 14th.

Violet Bones’ forthcoming debut album, produced by The Animal Farm, is scheduled for a pan european release in early 2012.

Taking inspiration from the great alternative bands that really meant something, from Led Zeppelin through to The Smiths and Manic Street Preachers, as well as from the life-affirming works of Orwell, Grosz and Plath, One Cure For Man’s powerful new songs started to take flight.

After honing their craft on the Leicester music scene for a couple of years, the summer of 2011 found the band seeking a new singer and a fresh lease of life. Like all the best twists of fate, when Jay Tennant stepped into the rehearsal room the band chemistry was complete and progress was swift.

In September, the band launched a 5-track EP showcasing the burgeoning talents of the new line-up and the strength-in-depth qualities of the material. From the call-to-arms rallying cry of ‘A Civil Language’ through to the epic soul-searching of ‘Not A Word To Anyone’, One Cure For Man provide an all-too-rare fusion of ambitious, dynamic music, thought-provoking lyrics and swirling, addictive melodies. In these dark days of disposable music and gone-in-6-months fads, here is a classic-yet-contemporary rock band that offers personality, integrity and longevity.

These are exciting times for One Cure for Man. The band will round off 2011 with a further recording session and then who knows…? Definitely a name to look out for in 2012…
